Have you ever been so convinced something would happen, for no reason at all, and then it happened?
That is sort of what happened to me at the end of 2012. Back when I had a full-time job, my company had a Christmas party coming up. At the time I was actually going through a horrible heart-break and really needed a miracle in my life. I also really wanted an iPad. Our company gave out prizes at the Christmas party so I convinced myself that if I would win an iPad that day, that it would also be a sign from the Universe that I would reunite with my ex.
It wasn’t long before I convinced myself and my coworkers that I was going to win an iPad. Everyone was rooting for me, and they were excited for me as if it was already a done deal! I ANTICIPATED that day to come. The party also happened to be the day everyone was saying was going to be the end of the world (read more about it here, 2012 Phenomena). So I do not know if this day had any significance, but I did not believe the end was coming. On the contrary, I believed something really magical was going to happen for me on that day. I expected that iPad without A SINGLE DOUBT. I cannot even explain how convinced I was about it. But I was so wrong...

I knew I only needed 1 winning raffle ticket. I started out with 1 raffle ticket, but got lucky when the owner was walking around and handing more of them out to random employees. She walked over and handed me at least 10 more tickets. This is it! I thought. I was convinced my winning ticket is in my hand!
After I went through every ticket, still no winning numbers. I got sad.
The truth is, when all the iPads were given out, I was very disappointed. I went outside for a few minute and I looked up at the sky and I asked the Universe for a sign that my heart would mend, and that I would be ok, and that possibly even, I would get my ex back. Although the night wasn’t over, for me the miracle I was hoping for was no longer possible. Although I was disappointed, when I went back inside, I decided to just have some fun and dance before the night was over. After all, I didn’t want to ruin the night by moping around over an iPad.
Just as I was dancing and goofing off with one of my friends, they interrupted my groove to announce the grand prize winner. I had totally forgotten that every employee’s name was entered into the raffle in addition to having raffle tickets. At this point, I no longer cared about the prizes because all the iPads were already given out. When the woman announced "and the winner is" I jokingly said my name out loud, and as soon as I did, the woman REPEATED MY NAME. I was looking at my friend at that very second and both of our jaws just dropped. I was in TOTAL SHOCK. I froze. When I finally looked around, all my coworkers and even my boss, were jumping up and down as if I had just scored the game-winning three-pointer at a basketball game. I had just won something greater than the iPad I wanted. I walked over to the woman as she handed me a box that was gift wrapped. It was larger than an iPad. Coworkers ran over to me yelling “you won a laptop! you won a laptop”!! “are you serious??” I asked, still feeling overwhelmed. Somehow I believed them and didn’t feel the need to unwrap it. I was just so shocked. I don’t even remember when I unwrapped it, but they were right. I had won a MacBook Air, worth about $1,000.
All I could think at that very moment was that this was the Universe telling me you will get your ex back. I know crazy right lol? That is all I could think about at that moment. In fact I didn’t even want that MacBook Air. I felt if I could manifest a $1,000 laptop, I could manifest an iPad, and I surely could manifest my ex back.
After looking back on this day many times over the last few years, I would always wonder, what was it that helped me manifest that grand prize? How did I do that even when I had given up? I now think it wasn’t that I gave up, but rather detached from the outcome.
I decided to give that MacBook away to another coworker/friend of mine. I knew she needed a new computer and she needed it more than I did. She worked long hours and didn’t make much money, plus, I already had a MacBook pro and didn't need it.
PS. A few weeks later I reunited with my ex. We later got back together and broke up several times over the next few years.
I'm Deja. I will be sharing personal stories of manifestation and more.
